Nowadays, there are a lot of florists to choose from and with the advent of the internet, it's easier and more convenient to search and get that beautiful bouquet you've been dreaming of. If you're the adventurous type though, maybe you could order wholesale roses from FiftyFlowers.com and do your bouquet yourselves or better yet have them do it! I am sure you won't be able to get your hands on that with the hustle and bustle of wedding activities. I tell you, you'd never go wrong with them as they offer flowers at low prices but of wonderful quality. How is that you may ask? Well, they remove the wholesalers and retailers from the supply chain therefore giving you lower costs without sacrificing quality. So if you're on a lookout for a good florist for your events, give them a call!

March
I've been away too long cobwebs have probably formed in this blog.
How has your March been so far? Hope all is well.
March has been good except for a few minor bumps along the way. I consider it pretty good nonetheless. The husband purchased his own DSLR last March 5 and he has been a shutter addict ever since! lol! I am thrilled beyond anything because we finally have the same hobby. It's not that we don't do things together, it's just with our varying interests, we rarely get to talk passionately about the same thing. Is that bad?
A week after, we bought a Nintendo Wii console. I wish I am losing pounds from all the movements I am making. lol!
So that is my March so far. How about yours?

Didn't I promise that the rebel and I will spend more time together? hehehe! Got busy today taking several pictures of our niece Mia. She will be turning one soon and her parents are asking us to take pictures on her birthday party. I am nervous! What pictures do you usually take during a kid's birthday party?/ Any suggestions? Anyway, let me share my favorite shot of the bunch. She is one feisty little girl so I have a hard time catching her on camera lol!

Am Alive!
Well hello! Sorry for neglecting this blog for quite some time. I had a lot of work on my hands but that is going to change. I am reclaiming my life back lol!
Work got me busy the last month. I had to help set up a new account and it took everything I had. Staying at the office for more than 12 hours of everyday just to make sure tasks are done. When I got sick last week, it made me realize that I had to slow down. That I had to enjoy my life. So from now on, that is what I am going to do. Neglecting work when I am home especially on a weekend and just spend time with the husband.
The husband started training last January. We now work in the same company although in different departments. We see each other sometimes and eat together a couple of times. It's been fun so far. :)
I haven't touched the Rebel in a while though. I miss my baby and I plan to make up for lost time. On Feb 16, I start attending the Basic Photography workshop of Jo Avila so me and the Rebel will start spending more time together. heehee!
That's all the updates for now. Thank you to everyone who bloghopped over. Sorry for being such a disappointment blogging wise. I'll be visiting your sites soon! Toodles!

Daily Living Aids
Thursday, January 10, 2008
It's really cool how technology and inventions help us in our lives these days. A number of Daily Living Aids are now available to help us. Some small, some big but nevertheless helpful.
AllegroMedical.com is one such company who offers these helpful things. They are an independently owned online company and is the largest most advanced retailers of life enhancing products in the US. In fact, a couple of our relatives living there swear that they often visit the website to purchase not only life enhancing products but consumer retail products as well. Imagine they also offer exercise and fitness equipment, nutritional and dietary suplements, even Maternity and Baby stuff. With 55,000 products under 50 categories, it will be very easy to shop. Hmm..I'd love to have that Folding Shopping Cart! lol!

This will be my photo for today. This is a part of the home tour the Rebel and I did. This one is my favorite of the bunch. The picture is sort of mysterious and feels like it has a story to tell. I also like the contrasting colors of the stairs and the flip flop.

Ordinary Things
The Rebel and I have been having some wonderful time together. Not really going places as I hoped we'd do but more of staying at home and seeing things in a new light. That is one of the things I love about photography, you see things in new perspective, the mundane, ordinary things become unordinary when seen through the viewfinder. The other day, The Rebel and I went through the house and captured stuff that I pass by everyday. Things that I neglect. But when captured by the Rebel...

HID Lights
Sunday, December 16, 2007
I recently saw a wedding picture that was taken at night. I was awed by how well the lighting was. Much to my surprise, I found out that the light they used were zenon lights from the grooms truck! It was an awesome idea. It runs out the lighting equipment went ahead to the reception venue so they had nothing to use until they thought of the groom's truck. It turned out really great! If you are curious, Zenon lights are High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting that is really great in lighting your path while driving down the road. This newest dimension in lighting will be really useful when you're driving and suddenly find yourself in the middle of a storm and couldn't see the road. It would be a real life saver, I bet! If you are interested, these babies are sold at BuyAutoTruckAccessories.com. They carry Hella and Optilux Zenon lights which are engineered in Germany.

On Mortgages
Tuesday, December 11, 2007
It is still fresh in my memory. The day my mom and dad announced we will be moving because my grandfather mortgaged the house and is not able to pay anymore. It was the first time I have heard about mortgages and I honestly didn't have the teeniest clue about it at the time. My father explained that my grandfather did his best and even tried to find some cheap mortgages to no avail. What made me remember? Well because my cousin in the UK and her husband are currently planning on a remortgageand are currently searching the net and comparing plans. I honestly am proud with both of them when it comes to financial matters. They're just so good in saving up and using their funds. Well, at least when the time comes for me and the husband to take out a mortgage, we'd have people to go to for advice, eh?

Bookcases
Friday, December 07, 2007
So as usual, it's the www for me. I searched and found a site that offers Solid Oak Bookcases in various styles. BarnFurniture has the most amazing sets of book cases I was literally drooling. I want I want! And did you know many of their bookcases include free shipping? Yes FREE! And just by providing your zip code, they can tell you if they deliver to your area, show special pricing and even help you find a showroom! How cool is that huh? Not a lot of shops offer that.
Now our only dilemma is we can't seem to agree on a style that we want. He wants a Mission bookcase with doors while I want 2 of the Traditional Oak Bookcase and also the Mahogany Corner bookcase. You should have seen the husbands eyes, it was wide as a platter thinking of the cost! But you know, when we checked, the prices are quite reasonable. To the husband's relief!

My colleague is insisting I buy the Nikon D40x instead. I know they're both good cameras but I can't decide which I really want. Bahala na tomorrow. :P
Plus the company just announced today that they have a tie up with Fitness First. Whee! Easier cause salary deduction ang monthly payments. But my friend is saying we go to Gold's Gym, cheaper daw. Any thoughts?

Sunday, December 02, 2007
Aside from the Rebel, I'd really want to have our very own samsung 40 inch LCD! Can I just have both? Well, unfortunately not. Our savings couldn't take that big a hit! My friend is suggesting I get it over the internet but I'd rather not. When buying appliances I'd rather go to a store and check it out myself. Good thing there's Krillion.com. Krillion can help you find the exact TV you want at retailers nearest you with their comprehensive product, pricing and location information. Based on their unique localization engine, they provide the most accurate results available. Check them out!

5 Things
I was tagged by Yen. Thanks Yen! I hope you and little peanut are doing okay.
Okay this tag is called Five in a Row:
1. Name one thing you do everyday.
Blogging! lol!
2. Name two things you wish you could learn.
Well, one would be to speak French. and two, learn all about photography.
3. Name 3 things that remind you of your childhood.
a. The smell of burning wood. Back in Cotabato, my grandma has this huge oven where she uses firewood to cook her sumptous feasts. Now everytime I smell firewood, I reminisce.
b. COD. I dont know what these letters really stand for but this is a place in cubao before where they showcase some Christmas lights and huge dancing figurines. I remember my dad taking us there and he would always put me on his shoulders so I can see the show.
c. Sate Mi from Quick Snack. This is a quaint little Chinese resto on Carvajal street in Binondo where my parents would always buy Sate Mi guisado for us. We always ate there and even up to now, go there for a does of that delicious noodles! :)
4. Name four things that you love to eat but rarely do.
a. Tocino. I loe this but if I eat this often I am afraid I'd have a heart attack lol!
b. Cashew Nuts. Mainly because they are expensive.
c. A certain pasta from California Pizza Kitchen. Sorry for the life of me I keep forgetting the name of that dish.
d. Longganisa from Bacarra. - 'nuff said lol!
5. Name 5 things that make you feel good.
a. Spending time with the husband
b. Holding my camera and just shoot and shoot to my hearts content
c. Spending time with my family
d. Reading
e. Watching my favorite TV shows
Anyone who wants to snag this just snag away!

Remembering the Wedding Plans
Monday, November 12, 2007
Our 3rd wedding anniversary is coming up and it made me reminisce about planning for our wedding. I was a hands on bride and though our wedding was simple, I've heard some pretty good comments from our guests which made the stress of planning for our wedding worth it.
I remember back then, when most of my friends and relatives were living overseas, the best tool I've ever used, Wedding Planning wise was that of WeddingChannel.com. I tell you, they have the most comprehensive site when it comes to weddings. The husband and I even had a wedding page with them! It is through their site that I found the wedding gown of my dreams, seevral tips on wedding favors and a whole lot more! So if you are into weddings, have a family or friend who is getting married, let them know about this site. It will be a wonderful suggestion.

Handwritings
I can still remember way back in Elementary and High School, I would often be voted as class secretary and most of my teachers would ask me to write on the board (well, until my asthma kicked in). Now, I really keep wondering why, and most of the people would tell me of my really great handwriting. Well, I never thought of my handwriting as great, I really think it average but hey, who am I to contest what they say right? So here goes, I took a quiz on what my handwriting says about me and here's what i found out:
What Your Handwriting Says About You |
You are a fairly energetic person. You know how do pace yourself, and you deal well with stress. You are very extroverted and outgoing. You are loving, friendly, and supportive. However, you are also manipulative and controlling at times. You are balanced and grounded. You know how to get along well with others. You need a bit of space in your life, but you're not a recluse. You expect people to give you a small amount of privacy, and you respect their privacy as well. You are somewhat traditional, but you are also open to change. You listen to your head and your heart. You are a decent communicator. You eventually get your point across, but sometimes you leave things a bit ambiguous. |

I am on a roll. I know I haven't posted in a couple of days, probably weeks but it's Monday and when i go to work tonight, I'd be swamped with work and would not be able to post much. So I am taking advantage of this time to put in these thoughts bubbling inside my head. Now, I know I've a lot to post about but it seems my mind is numb and couldn't think much. I hate this. Maybe I need to rest for a bit and come back to posting in a little bit. Sigh!

On Loans
Well, I was approved of a hefty amount, which was in time because the husband was hospitalized and we used most of the loan in paying the bills. I still have a long way to go in paying that loan though and now that there's a possiblity that we might take one of the Homeowner loans offered by one of the banks here, makes me really anxious and scared. What is we aren't able to pay for these Loans? Makes me pressured thinking I'd have to do good in my job.
So now, we are tightening our belts. making sure we pay the monthly dues on these loans to avoid any unnecessary charges and interests. It's a good thing that the amount due from my unsecured loan is being deducted by the company every payday - just a substantial amount but it's nice that I don't have to worry about being late in my payments.

News About the Move
I am truly getting excited as the date of the move draws near. Finally, a chance to be independent - can you say freedom? lol!
Well, we shoud've done this earlier but certain circumstances prevented us from doing so. Oh well, as my manager would say, that's water under the bridge and we should move on. So here we are literally moving on. :) What's even more exciting is the prospect that we may not need to rent - we may be getting a townhouse that's on a rent-to-own basis. Yey! A dear friend of the husband is into this business and he has an upcoming project he would be helping us with. Please pray that the papers would all be settled and that this would push through.
So this December, the Rebel may have to wait. Sigh! Let's see what happens.

Take me to the Beach!
I know I've been talking about Christmas for the last few posts but in just a couple of months, it's going to be summer time once again. I know, I know, it's too early, but hey, I've got plans for the summer so I'm entitled to be excited.
I'm planning a beach getaway for me and the husband. I'm dreaming of a trip to the beaches of Mexico. Exciting, ain't it? Well, wait until you hear this fantastic place I chose: the Riviera Maya. The diversity and fascinating beauty of this place would make you want to stay there forever! I'd love to go scuba diving on the Great Maya Reef (The second largest in the world) located along the Riviera Maya's coastline.
Just looking at the pristine white sand and the clear blue waters makes my heart thump! Anyway, I've set my heart on Karisma Hotels in booking this dream destination. It's luxurious accomodations make this truly a place worth the "divine favor" which is the meaning of the greek word Karisma. It also offers a Gourmet-Inclusive concept which is great for food lovers like me and the husband. Add the dedicated-Beach Butler factor and you got a 5 star hotel like atmosphere right on the beach!
Sigh! I wish I could get on that plane now, but I guess I'd have to wait for summer.

Dentist Trip
Sunday, November 11, 2007
I forgot to post about my dentist trip last Saturday. I must admit, embarassing as it may sound that i have never been to my dentist for quite a while now. I guess about a year or so and I sure got my dose of sermon from my dentist lol! Thankfully, there's nothing bad about my teeth, they seem fine although they obviously need some cleaning. And so I had them cleaned. My dentist repeated that i need to have braces installed on my teeth. Unfortunately, I got my teeth structure from my mom's side of the family and a tooth on my jaw is sticking out. I have to really think about it as having braces is quite costly. Cool, but costly. :P

Insurance Quotes
Thursday, November 08, 2007
Back when I was scouting for a new job, one of the things that I looked for in a company is that they should have life insurance benefits. It is important for me because I saw first hand how accidents can really happen. I am not talking about mild accidents but tragic ones and having life insurance really helps a great deal.
Now, I was pretty lucky to find a company that made sure all of it's employees have this employee benefit package that includes this insurance. Just recently, due to a merger, we changed insurance companies and had to fill up a lot of new forms. Curious as to how they look for the best insurance company, I asked our compensation and benefits team on how they decide. Well, of course, they would ask for insurance quotes and find one that could help them save money on insurance.
I think they have a pretty nice way of putting things and they also find ways on how to lower your insurance premiums! It is certainly not a joke when your life is on the line due to an accident. At least if you get one, your family will benefit from it just in case.
