The Planner

Hello all! Sorry for not posting after I went home last night. My body was aching all over so I decided to sleep. I was right, it was a wonderful Sunday, albeit the gloomy clouds that hung on the sky the entire day. As usual, had fun over at my parent's place and I finally got a hold of my first and very own Starbucks Planner. Nope, I did not drown myself in a gallon of starbucks coffee, I got courtesy of D. Thanks D! You are a doll! Now my dilemma is, I am hesitant to write on it! lol!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday everyone! It's 6AM, I am awake and energized. I don't know why but I am feeling it's going to be a great day today. Anyway, I am off to my parents house today. I have no access to the world wide web so I'll be gone for a bit. I'll be posting when we come home from there. Meanwhile, I'm off to run. Another way for me to shake these excess weight off. Have a great day everyone!

Online Education

Have you ever thought of getting an online degree? I know I have and I have narrowed my choice, capella university. Capella University is a fully online university which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Capella Education based in Minneapolis. They are also accredited by The Higher Learning Commission. Capella University offers a wide range of online degree programs with a vast offering of graduate and undergraudtae specializations. I wish I had known about Capella before. I could have saved money from the long travels to and from the Universtiy I enrolled in. Also I could have worked part time and earned a couple of bucks while getting my online degree. Hey, maybe I could still get like one of their 15 certificate programs.

With each day that passes I get more and more excited to finally see you and hold you. I've been dreaming of you for such a long time and I know we'll have fun times together. Travelling and taking memories with us. A couple of weeks more and you'll be mine. Sigh. I can't wait for you my REBEL. :)

Calm Before the Storm?

Hmm...it's scary to think that today's silence means it's the calm before the storm. Our weather buerau forecasted the super typhoon to hit today but it did not rain today. Well, not in Manila anyway. It's been raining in the nearby provinces though. I pray that all of us in the country may be spared from this typhoon.

A New Way to Lose Weight

There is this new way of losing weight and my aunt in Tampa told me about it. It's called the Tampa lapband. Journey Lite, the fastest growing network of specialized surgical facilities and surgeons are offering this procedure. They call it Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding which is also known as LAGB. What will happen is they will insert an adjustable gastric band and place it on the upper portion of your stomach. This will allow you to feel full and satisfied so you eat less and lose more weight. Don't worry as it is adjustable and completely reversible. I am unsure if I am ready for this process of losing weight but if you're interested I suggest you check it out.

A Piece of Me

One of the wierd things about me is how I always tend to be quiet when travelling. Whether I travel to and from work or go some place far, I prefer to be left alone and I always always prefer to be by the window. I don't know, I just like to look at the view and meditate. Let my mind relax and wander. The husband says I am wierd. He keeps on asking me, what if we have our own car already and we travel to some out of town destination, who will I talk to? Well, he does have a point there. lol!

Starting to Relax

I am feeling much better now. After that 10 minute hip hop abs with Shaun T on DVD and re-arranging some furnitures in our room, I began to relax. I haven't slept yet since I went to work last night and yet I feel like I could go on and on. :) Oh my leave was approved by the way. My boss is just the best. So here I am, doing my best to visit my blog roll and leave some love. I have tasks pending though so I better get to them. :)

Self Pubslishing

I love reading. Eversince I was a child I have always loved reading. I'm not a wide reader though as I only read those that interest me. lol! Anyway, I used to dream of publishing my own book. Being away in some place nice and quiet, typing away and finishing my book. Maybe I could still do that. Hmm. I wonder if anyone would read my book. But anyway, one thing that dissuaded me from writing was the high cost of publishing before but now I hear there's such a thing as Self Publishing so maybe I do have a chance to have my own book published.

Water All Around

I'm in the office right now. My day didn't really start right and I am still trying to shake of the "inis" i felt a while back. Imagine waking up to a rook pouring out gushes of water. Darn it. Good thing I woke up. My head hurts from bolting up out of bed. I started yanking out plugs from electrical sockets to avoid short circuit of any appliance in the room. In hindsight, that wasn't such a good idea as I could have easily been electrocuted. But I was on an adrenaline rush sigh. That roof should have been fixed eons ago and I don't want to go into the details of why it isn't fixed yet. hmph!

My Crossroads

A couple of posts ago, I blogged about my mind wandering off because of the upcoming lab tests. Well, there's another thing actually. I have been thinking about leaving my job lately and stay at home. Don't get me wrong, my job is rewarding, financial wise, but working nights is taking a strain on me, both physically and emotionally. I'm almost always stressed and I never get to spend time with the husband. Sigh. The only think keeping in my way, is if I would be able to give up the salary I have right now. Not to mention the medical benefit that comes with the job. It's no joke I tell you. That benefit is quite something. Imagine, because of that, I didn't have to pay a single cent when the husband had his gall stone removed. It's tough being on a crossroad.

On Losing Extra My Extra Weight

As part of my losing weight goal, I bought Shaun T.'s Hip Hop Abs DVD last Sunday. I've tried it and I really feel great. It's fun to do and I don't have to do sit ups and crunches for my abs. Honestly I desperately need to lose weight, and it is not easy I tell 'ya. I'm adjusting in my eating habits. I know it has to be slowly but surely. The good thing is, this will not only help me lose the excess weight but will also keep me healthy. Now how to convince the husband to join is another matter. lol!

Scared about the results. I hope that whatever it is, I can accept it. Haay, arte no? Kala mo naman sobrang terminal. But who knows right? Sigh. I hope my leave application for this Thursday and Friday gets approved. I wanted to rest for a day before having those tests. Please pray for me.

Blog Feature: Mommy Talks, Wife Stories, Girl Speak

This will be a new feature here on my blog where I will feature one blog per week. I don't claim to write good reviews but I guess I just want to give these blogs exposure(not that they need them because they don't lol!), but I guess just to show appreciation and some linky love. :) Feel free to do something like this if you want, nice way to show some link love too!

Anyway, on to my first blog feature. This week, I am putting Aggie's Blog in the spotlight. Aggie is a fellow pinay digiscrapper and a great writer! She is married to Edil and they have 2 adorable kids, Matthew and Martha.

I found Aggie's netspace when she left a comment on my wedding blog. As a practice, I visited her site and was enamored with how well she wrote. She can really keep you interested in her stories! At that time, she was neck deep in preparing for her pink and brown wedding (which turned out fantastic by the way!). Inspite of her busy schedule, she always always found the time to tell stories about her cute son Matthew and then-fiance, Edil. As time went on, she had her daughter Martha. I was there, reading, when she found out about her pregnancy and the anecdote she wrote about how Mato told everyone about her pregnancy. I was there when she announced to the world, via her blog, that her princess, Martha has arrived. Needless to say, I became a fan of her blog, an avid reader.

I like how she not only posts stuff about her kids but about her feelings too. Her deepest thoughts, fears and even her lists of things to do! lol! It's like being beside her everyday. What amazes me though is how well she can write about a certain storm in her life without airing out dirty laundry. It's like reading the bits and pieces but getting the big picture too!

So Agggie, do keep on writing. Your blog is an everyday treat for me. :)

The Husband and His New Job

Finally able to access my blog again. For quite some time I couldn't access it here in our office. Good thing I am able to access this again so more posts from me. lol!

The husband has been working his ass off for the past 3 days now. Imagine, on since his first day in the new company, he was asked to come in at 5AM and then he leaves the office at 12AM. My golly! Even if I render OT, it could not compare to the number of hours he has been in the office! What's worse is he's been at it for 3 days now. I am really worried about his health as he only gets 3 hours of sleep a day. He seems to be enjoying so I am leaving him be for now. But when he gets super sick, he is going to hear from me. tsk! tsk!

Back then I wish it would all stop, but now there's a part of me that misses it.

Remembering the Wedding Plans

Our 3rd wedding anniversary is coming up and it made me reminisce about planning for our wedding. I was a hands on bride and though our wedding was simple, I've heard some pretty good comments from our guests which made the stress of planning for our wedding worth it.

I remember back then, when most of my friends and relatives were living overseas, the best tool I've ever used, Wedding Planning wise was that of WeddingChannel.com. I tell you, they have the most comprehensive site when it comes to weddings. The husband and I even had a wedding page with them! It is through their site that I found the wedding gown of my dreams, seevral tips on wedding favors and a whole lot more! So if you are into weddings, have a family or friend who is getting married, let them know about this site. It will be a wonderful suggestion.

Handwritings

I can still remember way back in Elementary and High School, I would often be voted as class secretary and most of my teachers would ask me to write on the board (well, until my asthma kicked in). Now, I really keep wondering why, and most of the people would tell me of my really great handwriting. Well, I never thought of my handwriting as great, I really think it average but hey, who am I to contest what they say right? So here goes, I took a quiz on what my handwriting says about me and here's what i found out:

What Your Handwriting

Says About You

You are a fairly energetic person. You know how do pace yourself, and you deal well with stress.

You are very extroverted and outgoing. You are loving, friendly, and supportive. However, you are also manipulative and controlling at times.

You are balanced and grounded. You know how to get along well with others.

You need a bit of space in your life, but you're not a recluse. You expect people to give you a small amount of privacy, and you respect their privacy as well.

You are somewhat traditional, but you are also open to change. You listen to your head and your heart.

You are a decent communicator. You eventually get your point across, but sometimes you leave things a bit ambiguous.
What Does Your Handwriting Say About You?

Mindless Blabber

I am on a roll. I know I haven't posted in a couple of days, probably weeks but it's Monday and when i go to work tonight, I'd be swamped with work and would not be able to post much. So I am taking advantage of this time to put in these thoughts bubbling inside my head. Now, I know I've a lot to post about but it seems my mind is numb and couldn't think much. I hate this. Maybe I need to rest for a bit and come back to posting in a little bit. Sigh!

On Loans

I remember a year ago, I found out that our company is offering unsecured loans benefits offered to their employees. I was ecstatic but it took me a about a year to finally apply for one. I don't know, I guess, I was just cautious. I was thinking, what if I decide early on to leave the company, what would happen to my loan then? Was I even capable of paying for a huge one? Of course back then, the idea of moving out and living independently was out of the question for the husband, so I didn't even considered that possibility, which was bad of me.

Well, I was approved of a hefty amount, which was in time because the husband was hospitalized and we used most of the loan in paying the bills. I still have a long way to go in paying that loan though and now that there's a possiblity that we might take one of the Homeowner loans offered by one of the banks here, makes me really anxious and scared. What is we aren't able to pay for these Loans? Makes me pressured thinking I'd have to do good in my job.

So now, we are tightening our belts. making sure we pay the monthly dues on these loans to avoid any unnecessary charges and interests. It's a good thing that the amount due from my unsecured loan is being deducted by the company every payday - just a substantial amount but it's nice that I don't have to worry about being late in my payments.

News About the Move

I am truly getting excited as the date of the move draws near. Finally, a chance to be independent - can you say freedom? lol!

Well, we shoud've done this earlier but certain circumstances prevented us from doing so. Oh well, as my manager would say, that's water under the bridge and we should move on. So here we are literally moving on. :) What's even more exciting is the prospect that we may not need to rent - we may be getting a townhouse that's on a rent-to-own basis. Yey! A dear friend of the husband is into this business and he has an upcoming project he would be helping us with. Please pray that the papers would all be settled and that this would push through.

So this December, the Rebel may have to wait. Sigh! Let's see what happens.

Take me to the Beach!

I know I've been talking about Christmas for the last few posts but in just a couple of months, it's going to be summer time once again. I know, I know, it's too early, but hey, I've got plans for the summer so I'm entitled to be excited.

I'm planning a beach getaway for me and the husband. I'm dreaming of a trip to the beaches of Mexico. Exciting, ain't it? Well, wait until you hear this fantastic place I chose: the Riviera Maya. The diversity and fascinating beauty of this place would make you want to stay there forever! I'd love to go scuba diving on the Great Maya Reef (The second largest in the world) located along the Riviera Maya's coastline.

Just looking at the pristine white sand and the clear blue waters makes my heart thump! Anyway, I've set my heart on Karisma Hotels in booking this dream destination. It's luxurious accomodations make this truly a place worth the "divine favor" which is the meaning of the greek word Karisma. It also offers a Gourmet-Inclusive concept which is great for food lovers like me and the husband. Add the dedicated-Beach Butler factor and you got a 5 star hotel like atmosphere right on the beach!

Sigh! I wish I could get on that plane now, but I guess I'd have to wait for summer.

Busy Saturday and Lazy Sunday

Had a blast this weekend spending time with my parents and siblings. After our dentist appointment, we all went window shopping in divisoria. With the holidays closing in, there were like millions of people there. Ahh, Christmas is indeed around the corner!

After window shopping, we had lunch at carvajal at our favorite chinese resto - Quick Snack. Yum! Our stomachs were definitely happy! This quaint little restaurant has been a part of our family for years! Eating there brought back a lot of happy memories. I remember when we were little, my dad would bring home a bucket of our favorite sate mi. It's a spicy noodle with kangkong. Sorry I'm bad at describing food lol!

Anyhoo, Sunday was spent at home just lazing around. The husband decided to enjoy the day at home because today is his first day at his new job and he would want a clear mind and a well rested body.

That's how our weekend went. I know we've spent boring weekends but we decided not to go out much because we're saving up for the big move. :)

Dentist Trip

I forgot to post about my dentist trip last Saturday. I must admit, embarassing as it may sound that i have never been to my dentist for quite a while now. I guess about a year or so and I sure got my dose of sermon from my dentist lol! Thankfully, there's nothing bad about my teeth, they seem fine although they obviously need some cleaning. And so I had them cleaned. My dentist repeated that i need to have braces installed on my teeth. Unfortunately, I got my teeth structure from my mom's side of the family and a tooth on my jaw is sticking out. I have to really think about it as having braces is quite costly. Cool, but costly. :P

Insurance Quotes

Back when I was scouting for a new job, one of the things that I looked for in a company is that they should have life insurance benefits. It is important for me because I saw first hand how accidents can really happen. I am not talking about mild accidents but tragic ones and having life insurance really helps a great deal.

Now, I was pretty lucky to find a company that made sure all of it's employees have this employee benefit package that includes this insurance. Just recently, due to a merger, we changed insurance companies and had to fill up a lot of new forms. Curious as to how they look for the best insurance company, I asked our compensation and benefits team on how they decide. Well, of course, they would ask for insurance quotes and find one that could help them save money on insurance.

I think they have a pretty nice way of putting things and they also find ways on how to lower your insurance premiums! It is certainly not a joke when your life is on the line due to an accident. At least if you get one, your family will benefit from it just in case.
